KAZ appoints CFO and new non-exec
StockMarketWire.com - KAZ Minerals has announced the appointment of a new chief financial officer and an independent non-executive director.
These follow the announcement on 27 April of Simon Heale's retirement as chairman, Oleg Novachuk's appointment as chairman, Andrew Southam's appointment as chief executive and Michael Lynch-Bell's appointment as deputy chairman, all effective from 1 January 2018.
The group said John Hadfield would join on 20 November and would be appointed CFO on 1 January.
He is currently finance director of the UK business of Intertek.
The group also announced that Alison Baker had been appointed as an independent non-executive director, effective from 9 October and would be a member of the audit committee.
The group said she had nearly 25 years' experience in the provision of audit, capital markets and advisory services, having led the UK and EMEA Oil & Gas practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers and prior to that the energy, utilities and mining assurance practice at Ernst & Young.
It said she had extensive emerging markets experience including in the energy and mining sectors in Kazakhstan.
It said that following the new appointments announced today and the changes announced on 27 April, the board would maintain a majority of independent directors in line with the requirements of the UK Corporate Governance Code.
