Convatec Group chairman Sir Christopher Gent to step down amid corporate shakeup

StockMarketWire.com - Convatec Group said Sir Christopher Gent, the Chairman, would be retiring at the group's forthcoming annual general meeting on 9 May 2019, following the appointment of Karim Bitar as Chief Executive Officer.

Rick Anderson, currently interim Chief Executive Officer of ConvaTec, had agreed to temporarily serve as Executive Chairman until a new Chair had been appointed.

The board also announced that Steve Holliday, Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director, had resigned as a member of the board with effect from 31 March 2019.

Margaret Ewing would be appointed as Senior Independent Director and Ros Rivaz would be appointed as Chair of the Remuneration Committee and member of the Audit & Risk Committee.

A special nominations committee had been established to identify Sir Christopher's successor as Chair of the Board, Convatec said.
